Configuration Management Database

Project Description

In this project, we plan to build a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for QTC internal use. The CMDB is able to manage the servers' hardware information, the web service running on the servers and the dependence information between servers. Users can manually input information into the CMDB while WMI can automatically capture information and send this information to the CMDB. The CMDB will have many functionalities designed to add/edit/delete/retrieve relevant data from the CMDB. Moreover, this data that will be displayed on a front-end web application that’ll be the main UI that the user will see. Techniques such as MySQL, ASP.NET and Visual Studio will be used to implement the CMDB system. Eventually, a back-end server that manages the CMDB and a user-friendly front-end web service will be developed.
