Supply-Driven vs. Demand-Driven Economies

The senior team was assigned to the Supply-driven vs. demand-driven economies project to implement the economy driven by energy. The economy consists of complex and evolving production and consumption processes, which are driven by energy and energy-converters. Some of the agents in this system have specialized to provide certain niche roles, such as getting energy from the sun, or decomposing useless materials into energy. The focus on energy is meant to highlight the fact that even the most complex of economic systems is really just a way to process and use energy provided by primary sources, such as the Sun and geothermal activity. The team received guidance and consultation from Dr. Russell J. Abbott to ensure that the project requirements would be met and satisfied.

The system is meant to be able to dump data and have various configurable properties that can be used to change how the model works and runs. Currently, the code needs to be modified to change the simulation, but future work will include a GUI for editing model parameters.
