UAS Ground Systems
Synopsis:
The scope of this project is to develop a desktop application that establishes a ground systems for UAS (unmanned aerial systems). Since this project is expected to be a five-year long project, this year's team will be focusing on the basic requirements of a ground system: the prep of the process and launch of UAS. This will ultimately serve as a data-stream viewer/controller for the LA/Ventura County Law, Fire, HAZMAT, and EMS Departments to benefit their response in an immediate emergency or need. The raw data may either be: control instructional data flowed through the application server to tell networked sensor devices (in this case, an UAV) what to execute or information gathered from the sensor devices to be visualized in a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI must be implemented to serve as a controller not just for data visualization but for the many various functions that will later be defined from future ground system teams.
