Medical Record Indexing Workflow Module

The purpose of the module is to provide workflow management for the Medical Records Handling. The vision is that medical records reviewer logs into application, and based on programmed priority, it presents the next set of records for indexing.   The goal of the project will be to provide the students with knowledge on queue / workflow, security, integration and programming aspects of an enterprise IT project.  The deliverables for the project include the following:

• Prevent/minimize the following
  • Staff working on lower priority records prior to completing the higher priorities
  • Inefficiencies from humans assigning work
  • Staff accidentally working on the same assignment
  • Inaccurate reconciliation of work completed
  • Leader coming in early to run reports to determine what needs to be worked on
  • Delays due to staff waiting for someone to assign work to them
  • Improve reporting, requiring less data manipulation by Grace and her team
